Where is Local Self Storage located?

Local Self Storage is centrally located at 712 Lite Street, Point Edward, directly across from Sarnia Produce.

What is Climate Controlled Storage?

Climate controlled storage maintains the temperature between
13-27 C or 55-80 F. Maintaining a controlled environment is the best way to protect your belongings from changes in temperature and humidity that may cause damage.

What is Drive Up Storage?

It's a convenient, lower cost solution for storing items that are less effected by temperature fluctuations.

What is Seasonal Car Storage?

It's a heated indoor highly secure garage with state-of-the-art 24-hour interior & exterior video surveillance.

What is a contact-free move-in?

It is our response to social distancing in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. You are now able to complete the process of acquiring a storage unit online. Select a unit of your choosing, complete and sign the lease agreement. You will receive a confirmation email when your unit is ready for move in. Maps are available at the front door to help you find you unit. Your lock and keys will be waiting for you in your unit.
The cost of the lock $19.95 + HST will be added to your second month's rent. Please note that if you reserve a move-in after office hours, your unit will not be available until the following day.

Can I reserve a unit in advance?

Yes, you can! Reservations are free and we honour them for 5 days.

How long do I have to rent my unit?

We offer flexible month-to-month leases and never require long-term agreements.



What are the office hours?

Our office is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM,
Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We’re closed on Sundays & Statutory holidays. Please note, during COVID-19, our staff are working remotely.

When can I access my storage unit?

Any time, any day. Our state-of-the-art security systems allows you to come and go at your convenience - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

How do I pay for my storage unit?

Payment can be made with Visa, Mastercard, Debit, cheque or e-transfer. For flexibility and convenience, choose between preauthorized credit card payments, automatic bank withdrawal or manage your payments through our website or with online banking. No need to worry about monthly payment dates.

Can I use my own lock?

No - locks must be purchased through Local Self Storage. Our security system depends on the compatability between patented locks and doors. In order to confidently protect your belongings, locks must be provided by our facility.

Can I purchase boxes & packaging supplies at Local Self Storage?

Yes - We have a well-stocked selection of moving and packing supplies such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and much more.

Do you offer moving carts and dollies?

Yes - we have complimentary moving carts and dollies available.
